What Rush Said - September 16, 2009

This is the third day of What Rush Said; I'm 1/2 a post behind.  As with many projects, the process and method evolve as things continue.  This certainly is not intended as a transcription of Rush's show.  It seems clear that less comprehensive reports will be more appropriate for this venue.  We'll see how snippets, highlights and bullet points work.  The idea is to be able to quickly scan for the info and get a flavor of the day's show.  Enjoy.

R:  "They've trotted out Jimmy Carter,"

This is more about criticism of Obama and his policies being couched in racism.

Some reports out erroneously suggest that  Rush said slavery was good -- WRONG - he never said such a thing.

In this racially charged environment, Rush reminds us that, Robert Byrd - the only Klu Klux Klan member serving in senate was a Democrat Senator from West Virgina.

R: On story about couple having sex in a dumpster and were robbed ..."this is Obama's America"

R: Obama's off-record comment that Kanye West is, "a jackass."  

[Well, see, there is something we can agree with President Obama on.]

R: Commented about how different Obama sounds when he's NOT reading from a teleprompter.

Rush plays a sound bite of Hank Johnson of the congressional Black Caucus.  Johnson talks about the Klan rising again and Joe Wilson being the leader.

R: None of the normal scrutiny was done about Barrack Obama.  There is a complete  lack of scrutiny about what he says though there is praise for HOW Obama says it.  When the checks and balance are, "M.I.A." it's dangerous.  Rush doesn't care about Obama's race, he does, "care about his [Obama's]  intent to remake this Country into something we've never seen."

R?: (Rush asks a question.) "Can this nation really have an African-American president?" (Not verbatim,) 'If the Politically Correct media doesn't question the President, does this paralyze the process that exists to keep it honest?'

R: Rush doesn't care if he's [Obama's]  from Mars, where he was born, "I care about what [Obama's] intentions are."

R: "Democrats - ban free speech in the Senate"

Regarding Attorney General Eric Holder's comment that we're [America] cowards about race.

 

R:  (Not verbatim,) 'The cowards are the White House and the media.'

it's about incompetence.'

R: Racist claims are "admission of defeat on health care."  (Not verbatim,) 'that's why some are calling Americans Nazi's, angry mob.'

R: This is no one more associated with failure than Jimmy Carter, it's a "tantamount admission of defeat for his healthcare bill"

Osama Bin Laden offered book recommendations (Rush joked like Oprah's book club).  One of three is Jimmy Carter's.  Rush referred to Carter as, "America's hemorrhoid."

R: (Rush asks a question.) "Are we still looking for Osama Bin Laden?"  He mentioned President Obama's discussion about not wanting victory.

Mark Levin's book Liberty and Tyranny:  A Conservative Manifesto has reached a milestone - 1 million books sold.  Did the New York Times write about that?  No, but they covered Osama Bin Laden's book list.  [If you don't have a copy yet, here's a link to buy Mary's book through Amazon right now.]

A study finds women representatives get more money for their districts. 

R: "Anyone want to argue about the spending abilities of women ?"

This metric is being used to determine the level of effectiveness.  Study: Women Law Makers Best Men.

Caller - a woman answered question about if we can have an African-American president, YES.  If they are conservative.  Rush noted that, such a candidate would be ripped apart by the media.

On the Bacus healthcare bill - a parody song -  Pull the Plug on Granny to the melody of Take A Load Off Fanny with a President Obama sound-alike singing.

Angry caller - older male very unhappy about Obama and Carter.  He identified himself as a black man and said that this man [Obama] is ruining things for blacks. 

Caller - Lauren X - discussion about race.  R: the disagreement about Obama is , "substantive."

R: Rush review a report that unemployment figures very high, but those who have jobs are getting raises.  He saw this as an example of the media, "propping up" the President when policies are failing.

R: "Chickification of news."  Rush offers the example of a CNN report on setting bedtimes.  This is common sense, not news.

R:  Rush continuing the discussion about the off track media.  The focus of the media has been on the tactics of the undercover filmmaker exposing ACORN, rather than reporting on what  ACORN did wrong.
