What Rush Said in October 2009

Had some pet issues to attend to in October so daily updates didn't happen. Suffice it to say that Rush provided his Excellence in Broadcasting standards. He spoke of American Exceptionalism and how liberals are angry. I believe also, that October brought us the Rush Hudson Limbaugh mmm mmm mmm song. There also, I believe, were more undercover ACORN videos, or at least discussion of them. It's not a direct quote nor is it verbatim, however I recall Rush referring to Obama as delusional or something along those lines.

What Rush Said - September 29, 2009

This posting will be done as if telling someone what Rush said:

So Rush starts with a bunch of show titles where they're saying to the President to get off of the TV.  Rush said that that more Obama is on the the more people see who he is.  That's not good, for the libs, according to Rush.  The liberal media will be happy to carry the water for Obama.  Rush mentioned an article by Howard Fineman of Newsweek, Enough TV, Mr. President. How About Governing?  Rush summarized that too many people wonder does he [Obama] work?  Does he have a job.  Rush mentioned an article by Richard Cohen's in the Washington Post on a similar theme titles, Time for Obama to Act Like A President. Rush also mentioned the issue of Obama going to Copenhagen; an article in Politico addresses Obama going to Copenhagen to lobby for Chicago to host  the Olympics. Rush added that healthcare can wait, the Olympics needs Obama's attention.  

There's also an article on Politico a piece on General McChyrstal. Rush then addresses the issue of Afghanistan.  He was rather impassioned describing how Rush's audience serves in Iraq and Afghanistan, and that Rush's audience are the family members of service-members.  The issue of Afghanistan, Rush says, is not political.  

Rush pointed out Ceci Connolly had a piece in the Washington Post, In Rationing Health Care, More Not Always Better, Experts Say.   According to Rush, Connolly suggests that so how less care will mean more care.  He made mention that it was like Karl Marx in reverse, "each according to their ability, each according to their need."  Though if the healthcare comment was, "too much for some, not enough for others,"  the Marx comment fits sort of but not then also healthcare reform criticism.  Anyway.

Oh then he mentioned an article that was mentioned yesterday in the Canadian Post.  The article referred to how Sarkozy doesn't like Obama.  There's not link here because their Web Site crashed different browsers... buggy.  

A French paper (LeMonde) op-ed referenced in a Wall Street Journal article said that the French and British wanted to confront Iran at the UN.  However White House handlers did not want to, "spoil the image of [Obama's] success."  Rush said when the French have bigger gonads than America that's sad but funny.  The Wall Street Journal article piece on this is, Sarkozy Presses for Tougher Actions Against Iran.  After all Rush points out, that the European countries can do their thing and the US will step in when needed, but if the US isn't - that's an issue for them.  I'm foregoing the LeMonde article link to this piece mainly because it's in French.

Rush got a bulletin that Sarah Palin's book will be out soon.  He talked about how, "The media will tell us who they are most afraid of."  He said that he hopes she sells 5 million copies, which will sent the left into a, "greater tizzy."  The book is due out November 17 order from Amazon now. Rush started talking calls.  A fellow called in with the bombardier saying that you know when you're over the target when you're getting flack.  Then Rush went on about John Kerry wanting to change the name of the Cap N' Trade bill to something like Pollution Reduction something.  Rush complained about accepting their [liberal, left, Democrat, state-controlled media] premise of the Democrats setting the agenda.  Rush says he doesn't accept it and asks why let them set the agenda?  It puts us [conservatives] on defense.  Rush said Offense Offense Offense.    Then he talked more about Sarah Palin and how she was the only one who excited anyone [in the Republican party].  He talked about how some would rather have old-guard old-school reach across the aisle McCain.  Rush cited a Rasmussen poll of Arizona constituents.  61% said McCain is out of touch with those in his party. 

Rush talked a bit more about Sarah Palin noting that Tina Fey's spot on Barbara Walters' most interesting people is because of her impression of Sarah Palin.  He continued how the press is scared to death of Palin, going after her kids and he says, "they [left, liberal, Democrats] want to talk to us about being civilized."  He repeated that they [Democrats, media, liberals] will tell us who they fear.

Back to the Kerry thing and Kerry changing the name of Cap N Trade - at a time when the NE is having one of the coldest winters on record.  Rush also noted how there's not much going on hurricane-wise.  He talked about how eager the media is to see a cluster of thunderstorms.  Much telling is futures traders are banking on heating oil prices going up, which suggests the traders expect temperatures to stay cold.  Again, Rush points out his question, "Why accept their premise?"  In this case regarding climate.  

Rush mentioned a New York Times article about how Socialism is suffering even during difficult time for Capitalists, Even in Capitalists' Bad Times, Europe's Socialists Suffer.

I came across a link for another New York Times piece researching the link above.  It is a reprint of a 1992 letter to the editor, "Socialism Makes Everybody Equally Poor."

Rush took more calls.  A male caller asked Rush what Rush would do in Afghanistan if he were president.  Rush answered that he would win.  "We win they loose,"  Rush said adding that he would talk with his commanders.  Rush explained the end game that so many wring their hands about very clearly, "get out when we win."  Rush played a quote of Obama saying that Afghanistan is, "t an American battle,"  it's a NATO battle.  Rush asks, "who is NATO?"  Answer We [America], Britain mostly, and also Australia.  Rush translates Obama's comment, "means when we loose...it's not his fault.  It's NATO's."

Rush talked about some personal things how his personal seamstress is going to be taking clothes in.  He revealed how Katie called to want to look at the Sunset.  Rush confessed he jogged back.

Rush was bothered by an AP article, US income gag widens as poor take hit in recession. that quotes Richard Freeman from Harvard, "No one should be surprised at the increased disparity," said Richard Freeman, an economist at Harvard University. "Unemployment hurts normal workers who do not have the golden parachutes the folks at the top have."

Rush corrects that small businesses don't have golden parachutes.  He discusses how if a small business is over taxed and over regulated that they can't hire employees, which more accurately describes what's happening.   Rush used a boat analogy that may have been used in another article.  Essentially, if you lower the boat of the rich the dingys of the poor go down too.  Back to the article Rush remarks that not all the wealthy are executives.    Rush also takes exception to the use of the word 'WORKERS.'  Workers, he points out, is a Communist phrase.  We have employees or associates.  This is example of how the lexicon of the country is beating infected by the left.  On the article Rush describes it as, "hopelessly uninformed and naive."

Rush mentioned about Andy Williams' interview with a UK radio station.  Williams accuses Obams of pushing a Marxist agenda and that he [Obama] wants America to fail.  Adding that [Obama] wants to turn us into a Socialist country.  The Telegraph UK has the article, Andy Williams accuses Barack Obama of following Marxist theory.

Rush then talked about the school kids praising Obama in the creepy songs that have made the airways.  Rush mentioned an entire album of this and then played a spoof commercial for such an album.  The commercial included clips of the school kid chants, an Obama sound-alike touting that the album Kid Songs of Revolution featured songs in, "original German." Also included were what sounded like vintage Nazi songs, each clip introduced by the Obama sound-alike - One Leader Forever, Hope Is In The Air, Change Is Here. The spoof commercial details the album is available at ACORN offices, and teacher's unions everywhere.  It also mentioned an Ahmadinejad based Web Site.  The spoof ends with, "Kid Songs of the Revolution, indoctrination hasn't been this much fun since 1933."  Funny AND scary.

Rush also brought up Obama talking about doing year round schools and the negative impact that would have on the hotel and entertainment industries, amusement parks, etc.  Of course Rush points out teacher's salaries would likely get increased and that would be good for the unions.

Rush took more calls.  One fellow is an Iraq and Afghan vet described clearly the strategy for Afghanistan needs to be to secure Afghanistan so the bad guys don't take over and launch attacks on the world from there.  

A woman caller wondered why Rush presumed people are smart and they spoke about the difficulty talking with liberals.

Rush observed, "If America was liberal Obama wouldn't have to sound like a moderate."  Rush points out that some libs like Barney Frank are finding out people don't like their policies.

Rush played clips of Patrick Kennedy and Rush reiterated that, "They will tell us what works."  Rush also said how Kennedy was projecting on saying Tea Party signs were personal attacks, because that's what they do.  Rush mentions later the group behind the Bury Obamacare with Kennedy signs is American Life League.  It is a pro-life organization and is particularly concerned with provisions in the healthcare reform that pay for abortions, and that they believe will authorize the killing of severely disabled and the elderly.  American Life League's perspective is detailed on their Web Site.

Rush was offered the chance to be a judge for Miss America and there was discussion on doing this and opinions from listeners.  

A woman caller said of Obama, "he's not doing much."  Rush politely disagreed noting, "He is gobbling up," everything he can, though the, "constitution is standing in his way."  Rush referred to the Czars as extraconstitutional as in outside of it. He mentioned an article by David Broder, didn't catch the exact one.

Rush also mentioned that NBC will showcase Maria Shriver's study on US woman.  He mentioned the report last week about women being unhappy.  Regarding more woman news Rush mentioned a book review in the Guardian UK, Why Woman Have Sex 237 reasons are detailed in the book. According to the book romance and love are not high on the list. Rush thinks books like this contribute to woman being unhappy.  That's about it.

What Rush Said - September 25, 2009

This is a quick one today.

Rush talked about his experience on Jay Leno.  He enjoyed himself.  

Rush played great clips of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanyahu how the UN body should be ashamed of themselves for listening and giving a forum for Amenidijad's hateful speech.  In another clip, Nethanyahu said of Iran's threats,  if they UN members think Iran is only a threat to Israel, "they are wrong, dead wrong."

Caller, a man - talked about the danger of Chavez.  The caller's girlfriend is from, I believe Chile, and the Chavez poses to neighboring countries in South America and the world.  

Rush played clip of Chavez on Larry King.  Rush commented on the absurdity of how our media is rolling out the red carpet to these lunatics.  

Caller, a woman - suggested Rush get an alarm clock that flashes lights or vibrates under the pillow, so Rush wouldn't have to worry about over sleeping when he travels.  Rush agreed he should try the light kind, though he tried the vibrating kind and didn't feel it.  

After listening to a clip of Chavez Rush understands my Kadafi's interpreter collapsed.  

What Rush Said - September 24, 2009

Mark Stein hosted, filling in for Rush.

On Obama's speech at the UN, apologizing for the United States.  At first after Obama introduction Mark expected to hear a quote from a historical American document, such as the Gettysburg Address.  Instead, Obama referred to looking at the last 9 months not history.

On nuclear non-proliferation, Mark discussed this being a silly concept for post cold war world.  He points out that,  "it's the regime not the technology."  He cites the example of New Zealand,   "no one worries if New Zealand gets a nuclear bomb."

Mark talked about Zbigniew Brzezinski who, when United States National Security Advisor in the Carter administration was the architect of outsourcing the Afghan resistance against the Soviets.  According to Mark, this outsourcing paved the way for Al Qeada.  Now Brzezinksi (an Obama advisor) is going after Israel.  Brzezinksi suggests that if Israel does take action against Iran, that Israel would need to fly over Iraqi air-space and that U.S. troops in Iraq should shot down Israeli flyers.  

In talking about how foolish the UN is currently.  He introduced a tangent about the quick response of the U.S. and key allies to disasters, Mark commended the Australian Prime Minister after the tsunami.  Apparently the Australian Prime Minister had been asked about some meeting and the quick timing of the aid and the Australian Prime Minister [probably Howard at the time] said in effect that he wasn't going to waste time sitting in a meeting with a, "busted ass country."  Mark then described how Obama was sitting on a committee meeting with "bust-ass countries" that included  representatives from Burkina Faso.  In a UN guide Burkina Faso is described as having a, "poor economy by west African standards." 

Mark also discussed the attack environmentalist have now made on two-play and three-play toilet paper.  

What Rush Said - September 23, 2009

Rush started the show talking about what he called the, "freak show," at the UN.  Leading the way was President Obama, who Rush said, "took his mask off," as in revealing himself in a way he did not do during the election.

Rush described the UN event as being like the, "Star Wars bar scene."

Rush started in a great mood and was quickly peeved upon hearing Obama talking about a New World order.  Rush's view is that, "the United State has just surrendered.  They [UN] love this guy [Obama] because he hates America and so do they."

Rush described the UN assembly as consisting of, "freaks, weirdos, and perverts."

Rush observed that Obama is not acting as an ambassador of the United States as Obama, "rips," and, "shreds," the United States.  

Following the UN coverage, Rush complained about Obama saying that a system that elevates one over another is bad.  Rush's point is that in the world there are winners and losers.

Rush follows Kadafi's meandering speech at the UN. Kadafi says he would like to see Obama as president of  America forever.  

Rush said, "here we have... Barack Hussein Obama, a man who has contributed nothing to the success of the country."  Rush plans to repeat this theme.

Rush says that Obama is like a spoiled brat who has been beneficiary of this great country and then trashes it.

Obama says in UN address that the United States can't solve the worlds problems.  Rush replies with, "but domestically the government can?"

Rush describes the UN address as if Obama is the opening act for Kadafi.

Rush feels UN coverage is like televising a freak show.

Rush, "we're going global, Obama is serving up America on the silver platter."

Rush counters, "this [America] is a decent nation.  The UN speech Obama gave is what he wanted to give, ...why he wanted to be president of the world."

Rush on self-esteem.  Obama is ruining Rush's self-esteem.  "The Liberal In Chief, the President of the Unite States, the President of the World, ...telling how rotten I am, as an America."  Rush's view that Obama is, "running around telling the world what a rotten group of people we are."  Rush observes, "this is starting to effect my self-esteem." Rush wonders how we keep our esteem up in this situation.  Rush adds, "Obama is going to show the rest of the world how to trash us.  In just two days I'm feeling like the United State is the worst place in the world."

Rush plays more sound bites, "The President of the World," getting biggest applause on condemning Israel.

Rush defends Israel talking about how Israel, "has been squeezed, has given up territory,  ...now Israel is the problem because they are building homes for their people." Rush declares, "When Obama says this [i.e. that Israel shouldn't build settlements] he [Obama] doesn't speak for me."    Rush discusses the daily threat we face... not Muslim terrorist, not international drug cartels -- but rather radical left policies.  Rush notes, "we have a left wing radical kook President of the World."  Rush describes what Obama says as being, "outrageous, irresponsible, radical."

Rush evaluates how many people didn't vote for this.  Noting that Obama did not have a landslide victory, only winning by 10 million votes.  Yet, Obama is in front of UN bashing America and its allies.  

[Break in What Rush Said report.  I got a bit upset at listening to the UN clips.  I found consolation looking at the numbers that Rush spoke about, considering that many who did vote for Obama did not vote for what Obama is doing and are unhappy with him now.  That means that there are millions and millions of Americans who vote and who will not stand for unAmerican policies, and who are Unapologetic Americans.]

Caller, a woman  proclaiming she is an Unapologetic American.

Rush talked about Americas contribution to the world explaining that in less that 300 years we've created all this advancement, invention, prosperity (good stuff) and shared it with the world.  Rush points out, "our [American] DNA is no different than theirs." So then the question is how did  American Exceptionalism result?  Rush says, "we have freedom," and recognize the, "source of freedom is G'd.  ...But the rest of the world has not been invested with this."  Rush points out the America is, "the exception to the normal human nature that has characterized humans is the United States.  To watch it being torn apart, criticised and because Obama is saying this Obama doesn't view [American Exceptionalism] as anything special, it is negative."  

Rush continues saying (not verbatim), "that as individuals we are no better, as a people under our Constitution, which gives us our freedom to do our best, or screw off and do nothing, ...this freedom has lead to some of the best inventions. ...This nation is truly blessed, what happened in Philadelphia was a miracle.  American Exceptionalism is not an ego thing; we are an exception to the rule of human behavior."  Rush describes that in previous times and cultures people didn't have time or the prosperity to go around and tell people what to eat. People needed to focus on feeding their family and not getting killed.  He continues, "We don't worry about that except for all the things we're told are going to kills us.  Obama ignores how exceptional we are."  Obama sees this as Imperialism.   Rush says, "Obama is a kook and menace... [Obama] is purposely attacking the various foundations and institutions and inspiring our enemies at the UN to agree with him."

Rush talks about how failure is a resume enhancement, for Democrats.  He offers Carter as the best example saying of Carter, "the national hemorrhoid.  Who ought to be an embarrassment to the Democrat party.  He presided over the destruction of the United States economy as Obama is doing."  

Rush highlighted a Boston Globe article on Kennedy's replacement and a vote taking place in the Massachusetts state senate.  The article mentions Michael Dukakis as a possible replacement.  Rush describes Dukakis as, "one of the most boring people ever.  [Dukakis] makes drying paint look interesting.   Dukakis a glittering failure of Democrat politics."

Rush played horrible marching music that represented  Dukakis campaign music.

On Governor Patterson and Obama, Rush played a clip of [what I believe was Patterson] being critical of Obama's poor legislation record and more. Rush remarks, "he [Patterson] took my advice and turned it around on Obama."

Rush talked about Kadafi praising Obama.

Rush got grief about his remark yesterday about Hillary Clinton not getting into the military because the uniform wouldn't fit.  

Rush play a sound clip of Hillary Clinton talking about trying to enlist with the military.  She talks about her very thick glasses and how this very young recruiter asked how old she was.  At the time she was 27.

Rush comments that, Hillary's coke bottle glasses weren't the reason she didn't get in the military, it wasn't ageism.  Rush repeated his thoughts from yesterday that Hillary didn't get in the military because they didn't have uniforms that would fit her ankles and her behind.  [This was a cheap shot and Rush's mom is right that such comments make are not helpful to Rush's credibility.]

Regarding a caller to the show, a man, Rush said, "I know Obama is educated, but he doesn't know how smart he [Obama] is."

Rush plays clip of Obama, at [I believe Clinton Global Initiative].  Obama says, "cars in Boston and factories in China melting ice caps."  Rush says this sort of thing should be coming from the kook left fringe; it's scary if it's coming from the White House.

Rush says the, 'purpose of the Clinton Global Initiative is babes."  Rush retold the story how Clinton hit on Rush's date while Rush was talking to the Mayor of Los Angeles when paths crossed after a Global Initiative event.

Rush talked about a couple of show sponsors Heritage Foundation and Hillsdale College.  

Rush has received many emails concerned about him appearing on the the Jay Leno show.  Rush assures everyone he will be fine appearing on Leno tomorrow.

What Rush Said - September 22, 2009

Rush is broadcasting from Los Angeles as he is finishing up his appearance on The Family Guy.

Rush said that, "Barack voted present." Even though President Obama is not longer a senator from Illinois. This comment is in reference to President Obama's seeming non-decision on Afghanistan strategy.

As the UN Climate Conference takes place, Obama said the United States has, "done more in the last eight month to reduce our carbon footprint." Rush clarifies such a statement is, "how [they] lie," explaining that, if any reduction really happened, it is due to the down economy.

Rush referred to a recent Tuesday Morning Quarterback article featured on ESPN's Page Two by Gregg Easterbrook. Beyond football, Easterbrook writes in his September 15th piece about the lack of sunspots. Past periods of low sunspot activity correlated with lower Earth temperatures.

Rush again referred to Obama's carbon comments, "we've done more in the last eight months to reduce our carbon production than any time in history." Rush responds that, "we've done diddly... everything the man says is a lie." Rush adds, there's been no policies enacted, nothing done, that any reduction is due to the economy being down. Rush observes that if Obama's right about the reduced carbon footprint then, "we don't need," Cap N Trade and the other left environment policies. Rush notes that Prince Charles is suggesting people get rid of their cars.

Rush rants about, "fruit-cake, nut cases," involved in climate concerns and, "in charge of much more [than simply environmental issues] in this White House."

Rush remarks about the dire claims, 'we're going to die unless we enact such and such policy.' He notes it's, "like the Jerry Lewis Telethon," asking for money or the children will die.

Additional comments by Obama on the environment mentions low carbon footprint in certain regions. Rush remarks that, "they already they live in sewers like your grandfather's hut. Places that have low carbon footprint[s] is because they have low standard of living."

An audio clip of Obama talking about global policies and WE plays. Rush responds, "This guy wants to run everything."

Rush points out a NY Times article that states, "building momentum for an international climate treaty at a time when global temperature have been relatively stable for a decade and even drop in the next few years," will be difficult.

Rush remarked on a flurry of Reuters bulletins from with various things Obama was saying about the environment and other topics.

Rush comments that it is a sign of, "desperation on patrol... with Afghanistan lurking."

Rush played a clip of CNN Anderson Coopers "180" where a CNN reporter says that Obama should, "man up," regarding Afghanistan.

Rush, on Afghanistan, "Obama you are not the State senator from Illinois... you're voting present."

General McChrystal wants 40,000 more troops. President Obama wants more time to," strategerize," about Afghanistan. Rush asks, "what does this tell you about the man?" Rush offers examples, (not verbatim), "Obama is playing politics, going on Letterman, his [Obama's] Secretary of Health and Human Services is telling people to sneeze on their sleeve, he [Obama] wants more time to study." Rush concludes this is, "dereliction of duty."

Rush describes the climate conference as a, "meeting of liberals to... implement a world wide government... that's the end game."

The story of the leak of the general's recommendation of 40,000 additional troops needed in Afghanistan to win has become a focus rather than the issue of troop numbers and conditions on the ground in Afghanistan. The Story of leak centers around Bob Woodward's article about General McChrystal's recommendations for more troops. Politico looks at possible leak scenarios, Rush is leaning is toward the scenario that the leak is designed to make McChrystal look bad.

Caller, a man - Rush discusses the issue of when Rush smacks the table in the process of wild gesticulation. The slam on the table in the Los Angeles studio is echoing. Rush is working on a particle board desk. Such things keep Rush humble. They're going to work on a sound absorber for the later part of the show.

Caller, a man - The caller believes the general leaked the story himself.

Rush compares this leak to the days of Nixon and Deepthroat saying that, "no one cared so much about the motivation then," although brining down a president was part of it. He points out that, "the real lesson is how leakers can, [how] he [Deepthroat] was manipulating and directing the media."

One theory that the new leak is that Obama is backing himself in a corner. Rush observes, "not only is Afghanistan the war the liberals wanted us to fight... we're fighting it the way the liberals wanted us to."

Rush recounted the young Marines at the weekend football game in the coaches box in D.C. ready to be sent to Afghanistan and how Obama is not serving them by playing politics.

Rush looks at the media obsessed with who leaked the story and why anyone would want to damage our, "beloved President."

Rush states we, "have incompetence on parade, in the 'Washington Post they allow that he's forgotten his own argument' this is what happens with someone who never had any experience."

Rush is fired up adding, "the man [Obama] is a threat to America... incompetent boobishness on parade."

Rush remind Rush's critics that, "I can't raise anyone's taxes"

Rush on Obama's Letterman appearance commented, "last night while on the verge of defeat in Afghanistan...," amongst the banking and healthcare issues, "... and Letterman in full anal poisoning mode... "

Rush stresses, "it's YOU [Obama]. Obama has compounded problems rather than let economy work" it out, adding, "... fascism is when the government owns the means of production." Rush calls out Barney Frank, Bill Clinton, Chris Dodd for their parts in the banking problems, he mentions the take over of GM and Chrysler, the nationalization of student loans and summarizes, "fascism."

Rush reports and AP item across the wires, Fact Check, memo to President Obama: It's a tax.

Rush throws in , "the man's [Obama's] incapable of telling the truth."

Rush discusses how if this was in the Clinton days the media covering the story would be talking about how clever Clinton was lying to them.

Rush's view is that Obama is, "cold, calculating, potentially very mean guy."

Rush discusses that unlike with Clinton, there's no, "marvel," by the media at how well Obama lies.

Rush plays a sound clip of Biden who said at a Democrat fund raiser that if Republican get seats back, "it's the end of the road for what Barack and I want to do."

Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, on conserving energy, "people are like teenagers..." Rush recalled that Steven Chu promoted the idea of painting roofs white world wide. [This reminds me of a discussion about whether cars should be white or have white roofs to reduce poor performance with air conditioning use and a scientist listener/caller on another show suggested that this would be counter productive as the white would reflect the sun back to the atmosphere and therefore cumulatively could theoretically increase global warming, while it might slightly reduce car temperature.]

Rush played an sound clip of Wolf Blitzer interviewing David Alexrod on healthcare. Blitzer asked why not sell insurance across state lines. Alexrod stumbles with answer. First Alexrod says consumers need competition and choice, then dismisses removing state borders to insurance.

On this exchange Rush says this, "illustrates [why] you should not listen to what they [White House] say."

Rush continues that this is, "just like lower carbon footprint... [they] lower it by wrecking people's lives." Rush points out that here's not been one piece of legislation that has done anything about carbon footprints. The economy is down, unemployment is up, people aren't driving and using services as much as a result.

Rush continues it's, "woven in elaborate hoax that carbon is [bad]... Obama is taking credit for something he didn't do."

Rush's thought on insurance is that one keeps them honest by allowing competition.

Rush offered the example of insurance company Humana. Humana offers Medicare Advantage plan. They sent letters to members warning about cuts that would take place under the Bacus, House, and Obama plans. As Rush explains Bacus had a threatening note, "telling Humana that they can't send a letter." He continued, "political intimidation is part of this Democrat Congress." The Bacus bill would, "slash Medicare Advantage." This is a popular program because, "private insurance focus on quality," rather than just serving as a billing / payment mechanism. Rush offers that this is an example of what will happen with the Bacus, House, or Obama bill. "Humana tried to tell customers what would happen.," Rush says, adding, "
"this [telling a company how they can communicate with customers] is Stalinist... who these people are?"

Rush discusses a Bacus comment, "this is how you be a hero, to lower a tax on something not taxed and the media applauds."

Humana has been targeted, "because they dare tell the truth about whats in the plan"

Caller, a woman - offered her theory of the troop level leak is to see how mad the left will get.

Rush says the leak's purpose is one of two things, "sitting tight or to embarrass Obama."

Caller, a male - more on leak. The says Obama looks like he wants to turn and run. We [America] don't run.

Caller, a male - feels things in Afghanistan are turning into Vietnam. He's a father of soldier

Rush asks, "is the historical reference [of the first black president] worth it?" Rush explains that, "this is worst than Vietnam. They were trying to win [Vietnam]. In Afghanistan, I don't think they're trying to win.. the left's drawn up the war NATO forces, rules of engagement that blame our own troops..."

Caller, a male - more on troops needed. The caller suggests that if we're not going to send more troops get them all out.

Rush cites a report that Hillary Clinton weighed in on the troop level question saying that General McChrystal, doesn't know what he's talking about. Clinton says there's other reports that different from McChrystal's.

Rush highlighted what Condoleezza Rice said on Afghanistan. Rice says, in a Fortune Magazine interview, "The last time we left Afghanistan, and we abandoned Pakistan, that territory became the very territory on which Al Qaeda trained and attacked us on September 11th." She stresses the importance of, "not letting Afghanistan fail again and become a safe haven for terrorists."

Call, a male - about the Alexrod and Blitzer interview. They talked about supplemental medicare insurance. Rush replayed the Alexrod sound bite.

Rush warns that, "Dingy Harry [Reid]," is threatening to use the is threatening 'reconciliation method' a questionable manuever that would allow a vote to pass with of 51% rather than 2/3 majority.

Rush comments on Obama shooting hoops, "thought he was evaluation a new [Afghanistan] plan."

Rush asks, "where do you go from here?" If Obama's, 'tourniquet stopped the bleeding,' Rush asks why we're extending unemployment benefits. Rush is skeptical that we can believe that Obama's plan will bring, "all kinds of competition with insurance."

Rush proclaims, "there's going to be a backlash against this man [Obama] and his policies."

Rush played a sound clip of Letterman, saying socialized medicine doesn't seem so bad. Obama responds that he doesn't know why American's don't want a system that would save money over time.

Rush asks, "where do we start? ...Canadians aren't happy with their system, nor in England."

Obama says he can't believe American's... Rush says, "American's do want a system that saves money, that works better but that's not Obama's plan."

Rush posed a question: "Name for me a major government program... that has not exceeded it's cost projections, that isn't bankrupt or close to bankrupt ...name one that has saved money, name one that has NOT wreaked havoc on people it's supposed to help. The war on poverty?[These programs] don't work as advertised, costs more, taxes always go up to pay for it." He wonders is this is a, "magical; " plan? "It's insane to believe this," that the healthcare plan, for example would be any different than any other government plan. On Obama on Letterman saying that other countries provide coverage for folks, Rush replies that,
"we provide treatment for folks." Rush added that, "Obama is lying through his teeth and talking to a putz and a peon," referring to Letterman.

Rush played a clip of a Fox News reporter interviewing the Bolivian President. Through an interpreter the Bolivian President said, "what hurts this planet hurts Capitalism."
Rush corrected, "what hurts the planet is the unequal distribution of Capitalism."

Rush is having a great time in Los Angeles. He talked about watching football with William Shatner. He talked about getting up, which is hard as he can't use a standard alarm clock due to hearing issues. So he came close to over sleeping and then the clip roster today has he a bit upset.

He played a clip of Bill Clinton on Larry King Live. When Clinton said that he had fought against racism Rush argued, "your party lives for racism." Rush made a somewhat non-sequitur comment about Hillary having wanted to join the Marines years ago. Rush said they, "don't have uniforms that fit that big on an ass."

Rush comments about critics saying Rush is contributing to the corsening of America when they've got Barney Frank on Leno talking about skinny dipping.

Caller, a male - in reference to Obama's Letterman appearance that reference to the stimulus being a 'tourniquet.' The caller remembers from Boy Scouts that if you needed a tourniquet it meant you were likely to loose the appendage. Rush agrees, adding, "tourniquet equals death."

Caller, a male - on Governor Patterson being asked not to run, feels it shows a lack of class on Obama's part.

Rush was upset by many of the clips today. He was looking forward to playing golf and was going to picture any number of Democrat's faces on the golf ball.

What Rush Said - September 21, 2009

Rush started the show by asking, "How's that Hope and Change working out for you?"

Rush points out that, "State Controlled Media," reports the House is considering more assistance programs, despite indications of economic improvements.

Regarding the recent NEA conference call with artists being pushed to promote the Obama agenda through their artistic works.  bighollywood.com has a transcript of the call. George Will also wrote an article detailing this. George Will said about the conference call and the cover up circumstances around it indicate there, "must [have been] laws broken."  

In this mix is the ACORN related Web Site serve.gov that is serving political interests with public monies.

Rush wondered, "Why is anyone surprised by this?"  White House connections with this NEA call are Betty Wicks, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement and Valerie Jarett, Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs.  Rush notes that Valerie Jarrett isn't doing any that, "Obama doesn't know [about]."

Rush played a clip of George Stephanopoulos interviewing President Obama Sunday and the issue of what a tax is, in relation to additional insurance costs in healthcare reform.  Rush explains that, "Obama doesn't consider that a tax because Obama thinks it's his money."

Rush talked about how he and Kathryn were in D.C. for a Redskin's game over the weekend. Earlier they had seen a Marine getting married nearby.  There was a wedding party at the hotel.  While in an available hotel bar, members of the wedding band recognized Rush and extended an invitation for them to join the reception later.  They eventually did.   It turns out this was another military member wedding.  This between an Army Ranger groom and  a bride who was a former Hillary Clinton staffer.  So about half the room was happy Rush was there, the other half not so much.  The bride was very gracious and had the official photographer get pictures.  The groom emailed Rush explaining the political mix of the wedding party.

Rush went back to talking about Betty Wicks and the NEA conference call.  Betty Wicks says in a sound clip that service can be used, "as a platform to push political agenda."  She lists several items including healthcare, energy policy adding, "[we're] throwing a lot of government stuff at you.  We're actually running the government."  

Rush states, "This is what you get with one party rule with no checks and balances."

Rush corrected that the father of the undercover journalist, who posed as a prostitute, in the ACORN story had only joked about endorsing Obama.

Rush said, "Obama is gobbling up the private sector as fast as possible like Pac Man on steroids."  

It was now time for Foreign Policy.  This started with discussion about Afghanistan.  Rush reminded listeners of what Obama said about victory and Obama's discomfort at the image of the Japanese surrendering on the USS Missouri, in front of MacArthur.  Advisor to President Obama, former National Security Advisor, Brzezinski, suggests scenario where the U.S. would shoot down Israeli planes.  Rush listed various places/allies such as Poland and the Czech Republic, that the U.S. is now not backing.  Of course, Rush points out, "we've heard this before," citing former Secretary of State during the Clinton presidency Madeleine Albright.  According to Rush, Albright, "doesn't think it's good to be the only super power."  Rush continued, saying, "knocking us down from number one," is the goal of the liberal left, that Democrat policy is, "always to weaken us."  Rush adds, "make no mistake... this is who they are."  Rush concludes that this, "totally explains his [Obama's] policy."

It's said that all politics are local, which brings us to Rush's next topic - the apparent calls from the White House for New York Governor, David Patterson, NOT to seek reelection.  Seems there's fears Patterson will drag down the ticket.  Rush mentioned a similar situation where, then President Clinton pressured Mario Cuomo not to run.  [Report research was unable to find a reference for this.  Cuomo served 3 terms, running for a 4th.  Son Andrew served in the Clinton White House.  It is unclear, precisely which Cuomo received pressure not to run for what office from Clinton.]   Rush asks, "Is anyone going to tell Obama not to run?"  After all, some might suggest that with unemployment figures in the wrong direction, no super power status, etc., that Obama would be a drag on the 2010 and 2012 tickets.

Rush introduced the topic of a Junk Science article reporting on a study, "created to boost," the healthcare agenda.  It suggests people without insurance die at a higher rate than those who are insured.  Rush took great exception to this stating, "It's the medium, not the facts."  That the so called study is very poor.   He offered the example that this 'report' was no better than, "saying everyone who died in a car accident ate carrots within the last two months," so carrots were to blame.  Rush warns, "What you need to know is... whenever they come up with statistics... they lie."

Inspired by a caller's request from last week, the show featured, Mr. Bo Snerdley "the Official Obama Criticizer (O.O.C.), certified Black enough."  Taking on the President, he O.O.C in addressing President Obama said, "Respectfully, Sir, shape up or you will replace Jimmy Carter as the worst president in the last 100 years."  In the translation for, "EIB brothers and sisters in the hood," the O.O.C. said Obama needs to focus more on jobs that it's, "so bad, people are starting to sell bling."  He added that unemployment is the only thing being stimulated.  He also asked that the racist thing stop, that Obama is, "in the [White] House."  Touching on foreign policy the O.O.C. added Obama is, "making Russians happy... the brothers are yappy," and again emphasizing the importance of, "getting jobs."  

Back to State Run Media, following up to last weeks' Newsweek cover, "Is Your Baby A Racist?"... is this week's cover - "The Case For Killing Granny."  This is, according to Rush, a strategy, "it's the medium not the facts."  When something is said on TV, or it's seen on a news stand or market check out counter, even if no one reads the article, as in the Newsweek example, it, "systematically," effects the way we think.  Rush explains that it, "gets the heading, the graphic in the mindset of America."   He reiterates this is, "in the rubric of the medium is the message."  This is designed to coincide with pushing Obama's agenda.  It is, Rush says, "not about changing the way we think but about changing our culture."  

Caller - a man, a physician discussed triaging patients in the emergency room and how insurance, or lack of it, doesn't stop care.  The care happens and insurance and billing is dealt with later.  He mentioned uncompensated care being as low as 2%. When Rush asked where this figure came from, the caller could not reference anything.  

Rush talks about being misquoted in the media. [Part of why this blog exists.] Rush said, "the left can't engage in open debate.  They can't tell the truth about what we believe... what they believe... they can only discredit."

While in D.C. over the weekend, Rush saw three super energy efficient vehicles.  Tiny bubbles, that looked, "like those weirdo bike helmets."  He saw three in a formation as if one was in the lead, "all three fit in one lane."  This gave Rush a thought, "where's Ralph Nader?" 

Rush recapped some of Ralph Nader's causes, taking on unsafe cars, "getting rid of the Chevy Covair."  Where was Ralph Nader to save people from driving around in, what looks like death traps?

 

In a sound bite of Stephanopoulos interviewing Obama and taking about the added cost of additional insurance as being a tax, Obama gives the example of auto insurance.  Rush points out that these are very different things.  If they were the same you'd have health insurance in case you gave someone an illness.  Rush continues, "Folks he doesn't see this as a tax because he doesn't see it as your money, he sees it as his money."  

Obama says that Stephanopoulos, "using a dictionary is misleading," in defining what a tax is.

Rush suggests that it's misleading, "unless you use the Obama Dictionary."  

In another clip of Obama, Obama talks about the profits that insurance companies make, "we don't mind them making profits."

Rush jumps on this, "he doesn't MIND?"

Rush cites a story from March 29, 1994, "just to show how liberals think."  In this article from 25 years ago the Colorado Governor says about the elderly that they, "[the elderly] should get out of the way, [of the rest of us]."  

Rush comments, "they never stop."

Caller - a woman who unwittingly was involved in an ACORN program.  The program involved exchange teachers from France.  They hosted a physical fitness teacher.  It wasn't until after the French teacher returned to France and the host family was filling out evaluation forms, that they discovered the program was an ACORN program.

Caller - a man remarked about Press Secretary Gibs commenting that Obama would be happy with one term if Obama got his healthcare passed.  This remark was reported on in the Wall Street Journal by William McGurn. This one term comment didn't make much splash in other media outlets.
