A good summary of the show is how Rush closed the show today - The Confusion Continues.
Rush covered the ever changing story about the operation that killed Bin Laden. He noted that Panetta is the one who really made the gusty decision - that of telling Obama that Osama was located. He played various clips of White House spokespeople, including Jay Carney. A particular Jay Carney clip was a very odd and tortured answer to a question how killing Osama helped the outreach of Obama to the Muslim world.
Rush when through the litany of story changes - Osama was armed, he was not, his wife was a human shield, she was not, it was not a wife, yes it was, etc. etc.
Rush pointed out the inconsistencies of Holder and others explaining how Osama was or was not an enemy combatant and how therefore that justified Osama being killed. Apparently SEALSs were told that unless Osama was found nude, that Osama would be wearing a bomb and therefore had to be killed.
Regarding the death photo not being released Rush points out that if the issue truly was not wanting to inflame matters, then why was Obama so quick to want to release photos of alleged prisoner abuse. Rush questions the logic that it the idea for the SEALs mission was to make sure Osama was dead, wouldn't releasing the photos be part of that?
Rush also pointed out that only some 9/11 families will be meeting Obama at his first visit to ground zero. There was various speculation about Obama inviting Bush and even Bill Clinton. Both had declined. Clinton due to a scheduling conflict. A Bush spokesperson said that Bush wishes to remain out of the spotlight and, "President Bush will not be in attendance on Thursday. He appreciated the invite, but has chosen in his post-presidency to remain largely out of the spotlight," said spokesman David Sherzer. "He continues to celebrate with all Americans this important victory in the war on terror." Class Act.
Indeed, the Confusion Continues.
